the setting:

Whenever inspiration strikes me, whenever sound pulls at me.

the story:

Clips and snippets and seedlings of potentially larger projects. Works in progress. Raw ideas. Movements I feel in response to moments in music that hit a nerve. This way of hearing and thinking is a byproduct of my music research as a radio broadcaster, department director and curator; I would listen to thousands of works, and developed a way of “speed-reading” sound, honing in on specific sonic moments in pieces that made my body suddenly feel different. I would rewind these “heart murmurs”, as I think of them - often just a matter of seconds - millions of times.
